1. GREAT RESULTS
Not only do we have consistently excellent results at A Level, BTEC and City & Guilds, but at Wilberforce College we also help young people make the most progress from their GCSE results. This means you’ll get the best grades possible, for you, by choosing Wilberforce as your next step after school.
2. BRIGHT FUTURES
Each year we help more students secure places at top Universities (including Durham, Oxford, Cambridge, Hull, Leeds and York) and job offers with major employers. Our students have gone on to a wide range of successful and fulfilling careers and you can read more about their career journeys here.
3. FANTASTIC FACILITIES
Every year we invest in and further develop the College environment to ensure our students have an up to date and stimulating place in which to learn. We’ve recently created an additional Engineering workshop alongside our recently refurbished, and now University-standard, Science laboratories. We’ve also added a new multi–faith Prayer Room, some extra teaching areas and a huge ‘Media Wall’ in our impressive spacious Atrium, this should keep everyone in the loop! Check out our campus map for more information about the fantastic facilities available to students at Wilberforce College.
4. NEW OPPORTUNITIES
College isn’t just about the qualifications you’ll gain. It’s also a brilliant opportunity for you to try new things, gain new skills and go on trips to places you’ve never been to before! We offer a great programme of enrichment activities from Archery to Zumba, some fantastic trips to Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona and London, plus the chance to take part in lots of local and nation al competitions.
5. ADVICE & SUPPORT
We pride ourselves on the high level of support we offer to make sure students achieve the very best they can with us. We have a dedicated Study Support Team that offers extra help to all students, along with an expert Student Services department who provide support surrounding issues such as finance, transport and life in general. If you have a problem there’s always someone available to listen and advise you, from your Teacher, Tutor, the College Counsellors or our Careers Manager, to name but a few.
6. POSITIVE LINKS
We work closely with local schools, Universities, businesses and community groups in the area to develop positive, reciprocal links. This helps us deliver a well-rounded sixth form education for our students and also serves the wider community. We host a number of events open to local residents, parents, staff and students at local schools. We also support local schools, charities and sports clubs, where we can, with some of their activities. We have good relationships with many employers in the region who regularly provide student and staff work placements, workplace visits and come into College to give talks.
